Compare Cyclades and Saronic Gulf routes with embedded maps, daily legs, nautical-mile estimates, and practical route recommendations.
Nautical-mile values are planning estimates for direct routing between main stops. Final distance depends on weather, tacks, harbour approach, and anchorage choice.
Plan every route around the Friday deadline: return to Lavrio Olympic Marina, refuel, and be fully docked by 17:00 at the latest.
Day 1
Cross from Lavrio to the west side of Kythnos for a first night at the sandbar anchorage.
Day 2
A rewarding Cyclades leg to Ganema, a quieter bay on Serifos with good shelter in settled conditions.
Day 3
Long open-water passage south-west. Start early and plan the arrival according to wind direction.
Day 4
Use the day for the island round, including coastline highlights and swim stops if the weather is calm.
Day 5
Short hop to Prassa for pale sand, clear water, and a slower day after the longer passages.
Day 6
Long return north to Loutra. This is a key forecast-dependent leg.
Day 7
Final return to Olympic Marine. Leave early to allow time for fuel and check-out.
Recommended only with a settled forecast and a crew comfortable with longer legs. If the Meltemi builds, shorten the route around Kythnos and Serifos.
Milos and Kimolos make this the longest Cyclades option. Keep a weather day in hand and avoid committing south if strong northerlies are forecast.
The Cyclades are more exposed and rewarding in settled weather. The Saronic Gulf is usually the safer recommendation for families, relaxed crews, or stronger northerly forecasts.
